On The Day

Q. Will Pass Outs be available on the day?

Very limited pass outs will be allowed after 4:00 pm and for a limited time only. If you have a genuine emergency that requires you to leave, see the gate manager.

Q. Will tickets be available at the gate on the day?

Tickets will be available on the day at the gate indicated on the map (unless the Festival is sold out beforehand).

Q. When do the festival gates open and close?

Gates open at 12:00 noon (midday) and close at 10.30 pm.

Q. What happens if it rains on the day?

The Festival will go ahead rain, hail or snow...

Q. Will there be ATM facilities at the Festival?

EFTPOS facilities will be available, however we highly recommend you use one of the many ATMs on Queen Street before you come in.

Q. Can I bring my own alcohol and food into the festival?

No. The Festival is licensed to sell alcohol and it’s against the terms and conditions of entry to bring food and/or alcohol on the Festival grounds. And there really is no need as we have an array of delicious snacks and beverages available for purchase. Please don’t attempt to bring any banned items into the Festival as all bags are searched on arrival and items will be confiscated and will not be returned.

Q. Can I go barefoot?

Sorry guys shoe wear is necessary – thongs and sandals are fine but you may want to consider your toes and enclosed footwear as it is a long day.

Q. Where do I report any lost or found articles?

Found: Please take any found items to Festival staff.

Lost: if you misplace something please check with gate staff on the day as things will be turned in there. Alternatively, please email info@lanewayfestival.com.au and we will do our very best to help you.

Q. What should I bring to the festival? What should I leave at home?

Bring:

√                your ticket! It will be a wristband but please don't put it on until you arrive - gate staff will put it on for you when you get there.

√                sun protection

√                good vibes

√                cash

Q. Can I take water into the festival?

You can only bring water if it’s in a sealed plastic bottle. No glass or cans will be allowed. 

Venue

Q. Can I download the venue maps?

PDF maps of the city you're currently viewing will be found on the Venues and Maps page closer to the date of the Festival.  To view the details for another city, select it from the change location drop down menu on the top right hand side of your screen.

Q. Where is the festival located?

Buses: Go to Britomart, Midtown or K’rd for City Loop Service. Destination either Victoria Park or Wynyard Quarter. 

Trains: They’ll be running. Check www.maxx.co.nz

Cars: There is no parking in the Wynyard Quadrant.  We suggest if you use private transport you familiarise yourself with the nearby car park building. 

Q. What kind of cameras & recording devices can I bring into the festival?

No professional cameras (read: cameras with detachable lenses) are permitted without formal media accreditation. Likewise no audio or film recording equipment can be brought into the Festival.

Ticketing

Q. What happens if I lose my ticket?

Tickets cannot be replaced for any reason, so please don't lose them! Treat your ticket like cash!

Q. Where can I buy tickets / I have a question about tickets

Tickets go on sale 9:00 am on Wednesday 19 October 2011.  For any enquiries see our buy page.

Q. Is the Festival for over 18s only?

R18 … yes, the Festival is an over 18's event.  Anyone who fails to present valid photo ID (current driver’s licence or current passport) upon entry to the Festival will not be allowed into the Festival.  No refunds will be processed for patrons who are denied entry due to not having valid identification for admittance.

 

St Jerome's Laneway Festival is a fully licensed event operating under a “supervised licence”.  Although no entry is allowed to under 18’s the “supervised license” does allow entry to the Festival for children who are accompanied by a parent or guardian.  These children are restricted from entering the bar areas on site.

 

We apologise to those of you under 18 who miss out as a result of this, but we look forward to seeing you in a few years.

Media accreditation has been finalised for this year's Laneway Festival.

Volunteer

Q. Is it possible to work at the festival?

We’re all sorted for the 2012 Festival, but thanks anyway.
